New House Extension Project Begins | Builders in Dorset
Every successful home renovation starts with careful planning, and we're excited to share the beginning of another extension project here in Dorset.
Our team has recently started work on this property, with the first phase focusing on site preparation, demolition and groundworks. While these early stages may not look the most glamorous, they are some of the most important, providing the foundations for a high-quality build that will serve the homeowners for many years to come.
Preparing the Site
Before any construction can begin, the existing area must be carefully cleared and prepared. Our team has carried out the initial demolition works, removing the existing hardstanding and preparing the site ready for excavation.
With surveying equipment on site and excavation underway, we're ensuring every measurement is accurate before moving on to the next stage of the build.
As with every project we undertake, careful preparation at the beginning helps ensure the entire build runs smoothly from start to finish.
Groundworks Underway
Groundworks are now progressing, creating the foundations that will support the new extension.
This stage includes:
Site clearance
Demolition works
Excavation
Setting out
Preparing for foundations
Although much of this work will eventually disappear beneath the finished building, it's one of the most critical parts of any successful extension.
Looking Ahead
Over the coming weeks we'll be sharing regular updates as this exciting project develops.
Future stages will include:
Foundations
Brick and blockwork
Structural steel installation
Roof construction
Windows and doors
First fix carpentry
Internal plastering
Decorating
Final finishes
We're looking forward to documenting the entire journey and showing how this property is transformed into a larger, more practical family home.
If you're considering extending your own home in Dorset, we'd be happy to discuss your ideas and help you understand what's involved from the very first stage through to completion.
